Lizzy's Sachs G3

lizzy on her g3

80cc 45mm reed valve athena kit on a 505/1a bottom end.
19 mm mikuni vm? i think some old clone 85 jet drilled out to somethin' that works, problably around 90 but who knows for real?
the pipe's on the wrong side 'cause of the header! biturbo chamber hangin' on there.
rear wheel geared to 43. puch mags, 3.0 gazelles.
gets to 40 pretty fast. tops out at 43. revs to all jesus even though it's restricted on purpose to help the bottom end and especially the clutch not explode with the bendy air intake. the exhaust header is skinny 19mm? i'm pretty sure. it's kind of flattened where i contoured it so the chamber fits on the bike.
thanks to josh at TBS for hookin' it up.
zowie look at those transfers
replaced broken circlip, regasketed the case halves. case matched!
clutch nut slippage problem solved by using two axle nuts. i loctited them, too. a hundred miles later so far so good.

I just got a 1980 Sachs G3. It runs, but needs some love.

The frame. I fixed the kickstand, which was busted.

Engine enamel takes about a week to dry, but it's gas, oil, and temperature resistant to 500℉.
The motor is the 505/1A.

Honda NQ 50 "Spree"

These are pictures of a Honda Spree I ported out in the quest for power, since there are NO aftermarket goodies and it ran a puny 25 mph when I got it (okay, maybe 27 but it was SLOW). I enlarged the transfers by quite a bit, using an old E50 cylinder for a model, widening and de-restricting the intake and raised the exhaust by 1.5 mm.
The intake, smoothed out.
Case matched.

After porting, I slapped on a manifold and reed block from a Honda SB 50 Elite. I fabbed an adapter by chopping an exhaust manifold from a stock E50 pipe so I could mount a sweet Mikuni VM with a K&N filter. The exhaust was derestricted via steel punch enema.

I took off the oil pump so's to run premix. Tuning was a breeze. Let's see, what else did I do? I converted the headlight to use normal halogen bulbs. I also fixed the kick starter, and rebuilt the brakes. I didn't diddle the drive pulley at all to preserve maximum low end.

Final result: 35 mph! And the all important hill climbing low end was still there!
