Honda NQ 50 "Spree"

These are pictures of a Honda Spree I ported out in the quest for power, since there are NO aftermarket goodies and it ran a puny 25 mph when I got it (okay, maybe 27 but it was SLOW). I enlarged the transfers by quite a bit, using an old E50 cylinder for a model, widening and de-restricting the intake and raised the exhaust by 1.5 mm.
The intake, smoothed out.
Case matched.

After porting, I slapped on a manifold and reed block from a Honda SB 50 Elite. I fabbed an adapter by chopping an exhaust manifold from a stock E50 pipe so I could mount a sweet Mikuni VM with a K&N filter. The exhaust was derestricted via steel punch enema.

I took off the oil pump so's to run premix. Tuning was a breeze. Let's see, what else did I do? I converted the headlight to use normal halogen bulbs. I also fixed the kick starter, and rebuilt the brakes. I didn't diddle the drive pulley at all to preserve maximum low end.

Final result: 35 mph! And the all important hill climbing low end was still there!
